We’re a small Aussie family business, proudly born and based in beautiful Melbourne.

Why the French Connection?

About 20 years ago, we set ourselves a bucket‑list goal: to one day travel to France and follow the legendary Tour de France—one of the most prestigious and gruelling endurance events in the world.

Every July, we’ve been captivated by the race on TV: the breathtaking scenery, the athletes’ determination, the strategy, the struggle, and the triumph. It’s endlessly inspirational.

Our dream of reaching the Tour de France led us to start learning the French language. Bonjour! Along the way in our language learning journey, we discovered something truly unique and special within the French cuisine culture: the plat diviseur.

When we couldn’t find the plat diviseur in Australia, we decided to design and manufacture our own. And that’s how Shop Avenir was born.
